Resplendent
Reservoir
This is another image that I pursued doggedly
before finally achieving success. There are
few locations that offer the Three Sisters,
“Faith”, “Hope”, and
“Charity” all reflected in a body
of water. I’d made many sunset visits
to Tumalo reservoir with little success prior
to this one. On this particular evening I had
time to spare and the clouds looked somewhat
promising. I scouted the scene and composed
the image as dull gray clouds filled the sky
and the sun sank below the horizon. Despondent,
I concluded there were no worthy photos to be
taken this evening and began to pack up my gear.
A parting glance at the three sisters revealed
a slight blush of lavender than a wash of purple,
than a blaze of pink and crimson filling the
sky. I frantically composed and shot several
images, one of which you see here. On this instance
my perseverance was well rewarded. |
