Lupine
and Balsamroot
This little known pasture is located adjacent
to the Columbia River Gorge. I stumbled upon
this glorious scene by accident while visiting
friends in the city of Hood River. The field
was laden with purple lupine and yellow balsamroot
as far as the eye could see. I was fortunate
to capture this scene during a lull in the famed
Columbia River winds and with a slightly overcast
sky to my back which served to soften the sun’s
light and enhance the already wondrous natural
colors. Prints of this scene have taught me
that serendipitous photographic opportunities
are sometimes the best ones. |
