Upper Proxy
Falls
This beautiful waterfall is located on a loop
trail west of McKenzie Pass. The hike is easy
and lush and has the added attraction of old
growth trees, lava flows and the more photographed
Lower Proxy Falls on the same loop. I’ve
always been more drawn to this, the upper falls
for its sublime feel, verdant moss and its pattern
of water flow. I especially enjoy the strong
diagonals of contrasting hard wood, soft moss
and cold flowing water in this particular composition. |
